I logged into my hosting account for the first time in quite a while recently, to chuck some ideas into the MySQL database this site runs on. Before showing me my home screen, I got a message that I was using a PHP version that was wildly out of date (which wasn't wrong) and that I should upgrade.
At this point I forgot the first rule of dealing with open-source software: If it ain't broke, don't fucking touch it.
I touched it. And now it's broken. I've gotten it to the point that the blog appears (but the navigation on internal pages is b0rked. If the pages themsevels aren't.
I'll get it fixed eventually; in the meantime learn from my mistakes. Don't upgrade PHP unless you have to (and try not to write shitty PHP code). Better yet, don't be a dimwit and try to write your own blog. Just get a Tumblr or something.
Y'know, just scrap the whole blog idea. Go play Pokemon Go or something.
